We own a 2007 Nissan...

We own a 2007 Nissan Versa. There have been many problems since we bought it. The gas gauge was broken from the factory, not a big deal , however, thats just the beginning. The radio/cd player shorted out the dash and they had to replace it, not once but twice. The lock ignition went, the fuel pump went, they said the key deprogammed itself while the vehicle was running, the line from the ignition to the fuel pump was defective, the front drive shaft went, the rotors were"severly warped" and had to be replaced, the back drums needed machining. The brakes, fuel pump, fuel pump line, the key thing and the drive shaft all happened at 59,000 kms. My bumper to bumper is just about to expire and I'm concerned. I do have an extended, but in light of all the problems, not sure if its enough. Last couple of days, there seems to be another problem with the gas pedal sticking and accelerating on its own. New problem! Advice?

There are no lemon Laws in Ontario.

However new car manufactures are part of an organization called CAMVAP, which is a third party that arbitrates disputes over repairs for a new car.

CAMVAP uses different independent organizations to deliver the plan within Canada. These are called Provincial Administrators. If you believe your claim is eligible for CAMVAP, contact your local Provincial Administrator at 1-800-207-0685 or visit www.camvap.ca.

So,bascially, you're saying, I am stuck with this crappy car. When I went on line yesterday, I found a website that they were trying to pass a lemon law in Ontario. I take it that hasn't come to pass yet? So far the repairs have mostly been paid for. My concern is that there may be more things to come that are not covered. I will write down their information (CAMVAP) for future reference. Thank you

There is no Lemon law in Ontario, but the CAMVAP can help. You can start your complaint with them.

The Auto Sales industry has had the Ontario government convinced they can self regulated these issues which is why CAMVAP is the only true course of action.
