This is called constructive dismissal. You have basically been fired without cause, and they are offering you your own job back at a lower pay.

Now $9.50 per hour times 6 hours per day times 10 days per 2 week pay period equals $570, and you run the risk that as an hourly employee, they can further change your working hours, thus reducuing your pay even further.

The only fly in the ointment is their claim that business is down. If true that would be a reason to lay off staff, and to offer a new lower pay deal.

This means that their damages, if you have a claim at law, would amount to the difference between the $620 you were earning, and the $570 that they are offering you now.
