I'm in Alberta. I've read up a lot on section 7 expenses and
I've read up a lot on section 7 expenses and I'm aware of the general categories and the items that are typically permitted like health care, dental, health insurance, certain activities, etc. It's the questionable ones I was hoping to get a sense of, understanding that it's often case dependent. For example: 1. My ex purchased used skis for 350$ and new skates for 2 kids for 200$. The skates were used once and the skis by 1 kid only once. They don't even like to do either anymore. Furthermore, when we were together we would usually rent because they grow out so fast. I went skiing this year and rented for 50$. Skate rentals are 10$/ch and I already have skates for them but she decided to buy new ones anyway. 2. Cell phone plans and repairs for 10 and 12 year old. Something I was never on board with, but she decided to get them for our daughters. 3. A computer for homework. They already have laptops and iPads. And it is mainly used for gaming. 1350$ 4. Eyeglasses 2 X 300$ each. I buy glasses online for 25-50$. We had been doing that for years before we separated for adults and kids, and even after we separated. This past year she bought RayBans and another fancy brand for kids who typically end up sleeping on their glasses and breaking them. Not to mention require a new Rx every 6-12 months. 5. A tutor I wasn't even aware of. She is the teenage daughter of a colleague of hers, not even an actual tutor. And I also wasn't given any reason why this was required.
