The grandmother is a legal stranger. She has absolutely and utterly no right in the least to keep your child. It is abduction.

I suggest tell the police that you are the legal guardian and while you would understand if you need a police enforceable order against the father this is a grandmother will absolutely no legal rights and she has abducted your child. I suggest you tell them you just received this confirmed by a senior retired family lawyer.

If you go to court on Monday that Judge will be shocked and not know what to do because there is no reason for there to have to be an order against a grandmother. It's actually absurd.

This is a criminal matter and not a custody matter. It is not a family law matter as this is not a parent or legal guardian.

It is a stranger keeping the child from their mother and also not sending them to school.

If this happened to my child I would stand at the door and knock repeatedly while screaming for my child and calling 911.
