You are not allowed to take a lower paying job to reduce support.

So you would have to show this is bona fide. I don't think you would succeed at least not at first.

I doubt it. You kept working all this time and now that support is an issue you want to work less. I honestly don't think a judge will believe you.

I meant that over time, as you put the separation behind you and are living separately for some time if you then say this is too much for you you have a better shot at being believed.

You are trying to think of ways to get out of paying the support. It is common. You will get caught.

If you lie on your financial statement it is perjury and fraud.

If you are discovered later any separation agreement would be set aside and your spouse could drag you back to court to get a retroactive support adjustment.

The judge will find that you are deliberately under-employed and will impute income.

I am a senior retired family lawyer and this is tried all the time and it doesn't work and the judge will just find you lack any credibility and end up believing your spouse over you for any issue.

I think you need to retain your own family lawyer at once before making mistakes you may end regretting

But it doesn't matter what you think is fair or even what the judge thinks is fair. The court is bound by the law.

The last thing you need is for a judge to find you are dishonest. It will work strongly against you.
