Hi we have recently come to a head with my husbands parents. I have two children from previous relationships that his parents haven't made much of an effort with. My husband tried talking to them years ago about this and told them if things didn't change when we have our own kids the relationship won't be any different. I personally spent hours ensuring my daughter their granddaughter could form a better relationship with her grandparents with no effort back. They live in a different province. I face timed with them almost daily and they rarely returned the effort. I stoped putting them effort in but they now refuse to contact me so that they can face time with their granddaughter. My husband works extensive hours while I am home daily all day. My husband and his father discussed going to counselling to rectify issues between us but they refuse until they see our daughter yet have not tried to fact time with whom it makes more sense to contact. his father threatened family court and has now retained a lawyer. They are asking for 1 week uninterrupted access in a different province. they will transport and cover cost. 3 times a week face time with us to call. When they visit our home town. 3 2 hour visits within 7 days with 2 overnight stays and that when it is a holiday or special occasion they get 2 hours of time with her when they are here or an additional phone call. Our daughter is 3 years old. She has not face timed with them since Christmas which we made he effort not them. Since they have not seen or tried.Historically they have only seen her 3-4 times per year for a few days up to a week at a time besides my efforts to create a relationship with them and her. We have never lived with them. We are looking to seek legal counsel but wonder if they are truly entitled to all these rights or are being unreasonable in their requests. Truth be told at this time there are multiple reasons why we would not look to have anymore access than face time and they make the effort but have been made feel we have no choice but to allow them all of what they want. There are a lot of head games happening right now and harassing voice mails or calls/text messages even though their lawyer has asked for all communication regarding access go through them which we have followed. Sorry for the length but hope you could give a quick guidance

No we have not ever been involved in any type of mediation or lawyers until now with them. They are not willing to work anything out with us personally just want our daughter and it has been 7 months since we have had any amicable relations. It seems they want to go about unreconcilable differences but want to see our daughter but not the step grandchildren
