We broke up during the pandemic and I got stuck behind the border closures. The issue is that he refuses to answer my emails, owes me money and is holding all my personal belongings. I am initiating legal proceedings, and my case falls under Family Law. Since the Canadian Law considers me as a common law partners (although never formalized) I would like to know if there is any way that I can travel to NL to retrieve my things and possibly my money .
