A little story reading tells me that illegitimate children

Customer Question

A little history reading tells me that illegitimate children or bastard children or children who don't know who their real father were regarded as forever damed and of having no rights or entitlements. Fifty years ago would this notion still be held true, however clandestine?

Thank you very much for your thought-provoking question. Fortunately, the laws have changed substantially in this area.

However, to provide you with a more meaningful answer would you please first let me know your province and then let me know if you are asking about anything specific such as inheritance laws or family laws or would you rather me touch upon both of those areas?
