Hi, I have three groups of...

Hi,

I have three groups of 100 clams.

Clams in group 1 are one year olds, Group 2 is two years old and group 3 is 3 years old.

All three groups were moved from a land-based hatchery into the ocean.

After 18 days, 80% of the 1 year-old clams were dead, 20% of the 2 year-olds were dead, and 8% of the 3 year-olds were dead.

There seems to be a relationship between age and survival.

My data consists of the number of clams alive on each of the 18 days, i.e., starting at 100/100 and ending at 20/100 for the 1 year-olds, for example.

I think that a correlation test and/or linear regression test is in order.

1. Are these appropriate tests?

2. If so, how doe I set up the input data - age = 1, 2 and 3, and survival rate, either as raw data or averages?

3. If you could just tell me how this data should be set up, I'll try executing the test you recommend in Excel.

Please let me know if you need any additional information. If I have it, you'll get it!

Many Thanks,

Charley Waters [email protected]
