This is a common issue, and you are correct, there is actually a campaign for this to be repaired. It is not a recall, so the dealer does not take responsibility, but it is a campaign for a recall. You should call the dealer and see if this has become a recall and whether your vehicle qualifies. In the meantime I will provide you the campaign information which also contains repair information.
