Hello, I have bought a 2003 escalade with the message "service ride control". The preowner says that this message comes after changing to normal shocks. I never drove an escalade before, but I think the steering is very sensitive, at higher speed, too. Does an 2003 escalade have "speed sensitive steering" and is this connected with the "service ride control" message? Can I pull the rtd fuse and the compressor relais out to get rid of the message? Thanks for help!

yes, the steering is more sensitive in the caddys. thats the way it is designed.

no connection to the ride control.

bo way to remove a fuse to get rid of the light without effecting other systems. Why dont you just replace the shocks with the correct shocks??? that will remove the light and put the car back to the way it was designed??

Thanks for the answer, but I'm not sure I understand.
In other answers I read they said that removing the RTD fuse and the compressor relay stops the message 'service ride control'. And that I don't use the fuse and the relay because I don't have an effect of ride control with normal (gas pressure) shocks. So I planed to remove this two item and my doubt is, If I would cancel the speed sensitive steering if I do this....
I don't have the Original shocks and don't want to buy new ones.
Cadillac Mechanic: roybelding, ASE Certified Technician replied 8 months ago

if you remove the fuses, no need for the relay. when you do that see what other systems do not work.

if it were that easy, the previous owner would have done that also.

The question is which other systems don't work anymore? I don't need the ride control system with the gas pressure shocks....
Cadillac Mechanic: roybelding, ASE Certified Technician replied 8 months ago

let me check and see what other systems are on the fuse

looking at the diagram, try taking the connector off the module. cutting power from any of the 3 fuses disables different systems.

I will post the location of the module

Ok, thank you for your patience, only one question: can you tell me which exact systems are disabled if I pull off onlybthe Rtd-fuse auf pull off (and bypass with a registriert) the relay (nearly the underhood fuse box)?
Is the speed sensitive steering affected?

do you have any ideas or are you still busy?
Cadillac Mechanic: roybelding, ASE Certified Technician replied 7 months ago

no, I am good. I know it will effect the steering sensitivity, it looks like trac control but I cannot see what else it controls. wiring diagrams are very vague on this.

sorry, was tied up with thanksgiving.

try unplugging the module and see if the light goes out.
