Customer Question

Second opinion] My remote broke so I purchased another one. The last time I had the dealer program my remote and was charged $60. Is there a way to do the programming without going to the dealership?
JA: What is the model of your '60 Cadillac?
Customer: I wish I had a 60. Mine is a 2002 Seville SLS
JA: Are you fixing your MiniE yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I tried holding down the lock and unlock buttons, but nothing happened.
JA: Is this your first time dealing with this issue?
Customer: Yes, the last time I took it to the dealership.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

A high quality scan tool is the only method for programming the transmitters.

That's not to say that you have to pay for it. If you have a good relationship with your local mechanic, he might do it for you as a courtesy.
