Hi, I'm Chad ,Welcome To JustAnswer, I'm reviewing your question and I will be posting a reply ASAP

what is the mileage on it?

has trans fluid been checked ?

any check engine light on ?

the shifting solenoids inside the valve body can cause thard gearing down when it cones to stop or a slow crawl to a traffic light , you feel a hard jolt down

did you have it scanned and retrieved any fault codes .

several reasons could cause this, i need more info from you to determine that ?

Please let me know

Thank You

I would inspect or replace the fluid & get a diagnostic done & retrieve the transmission fault codes using a gm scanner

you can post the fault code numbers you get , back here if you like and i can help you further to what is causing it

Please let me know

Thank You
