JA: Is the key stripped or worn?
Customer: No
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I was thinking it would be a sensor from what i read online is a part number
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: It runs the navigation screen shows starting key removed disabled then shuts the engine then i turn it back on and then a cew mins by same thing

Im anxious to know if i could fix it myself. When i took it to a shop they told me it could be the craftsensor and cranf. When i took it to autozone it came back with a code of oxygen sensor.. Bank one number 2 something lime this..

This issue here can be caused by a fault with the key itself not being recognized anymore by the vehicle.This causes this message and issue here.If you have another key try it and see if it then operates properly with no messages then.If you do not have another key to try this will need tested further and is usually best done by a dealer as it sounds like the other facilities are guessing at the fault here.This sounds like the key itself may need replaced.

I have a 2006 cts, RWd. I have a 2006 cts rwd with 3.6
hi I have a 2006 cts rwd with 3.6 engine. 131,000 miles. Transmission was going out so I had it replaced with a used tranny from an 07 with 46,000 miles. The transmission seems to be working fine in all ranges, shifting ok but I still have a random at different times while driving a sound that seems to be coming from the transmission area like a short buzzing or humming noise. Usually happens while steady rpms, not under acceleration. It started making this same random noise in the previous transmission when it started to go out. Finally it quit shifting into gears and in overdrive the previous trans would run at 3000 rpms at 65. This new used trans seems to be making the same just random "buzzing" or humming noise. It doesn't stay for very long. Just comes and goes. Am I looking in the right place or is it just coincidence that this is another issue that started when my original trans failed. Also, there is no transmission dipstick or a way to fluid replace in these units. Is this trans maintenance free? I can't believe that an automatic trans would be maintenance free. … read more
