My 2011 Cadillac cts has a humming noise about 5 minutes

Customer Question

my 2011 Cadillac cts has a humming noise about 5 minutes into a drive and in about 15 minutes the engine begins running hot. The noise (I think it might be a fan) continues after the car is turned off. Any idea what may be wrong and how to fix it?

It sounds as though you may be low on coolant. The humming is the probably the sound of the cooling fans kicking on due to the engine temperature. Have you checked to see if your low on coolant, and that your fans are operational?
