Hi there,

When the knob gets loose and rattling, you need to replace it.

The new replacement knobs are better from factory now.

How does it come off to be replaced?
Expert:  Gary replied 1 year ago.

They aren't threaded on like most gear knobs.

They are push on.

You need a pair of levers of appropriate size at the base of the knob to lever it up off the shaft.

To fit the new one, slide it down with the shift pattern facing correctly, then sharp rap from one hand will have it home.

Hope this helps.
