Cadillac Repair Questions? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.
Does your scan tool have live data on it?
And its not setting a code for an individual cylinder?
If you spray brake parts cleaner or carb cleaner or something around the intake does it smooth out for a second?>
Take your time.
Have you checked the fuel pressure? Sounds like a bad fuel pump.
No. Have him leave the fuel gauge on and run it until its acting up and monitor the fuel pressure then. Let me know what the fuel pressure is reading while its missing.
Sorry for the delay BTW.. I have been in a phone call for a bit.
Sounds good, I will be standing by.
Does the scan tool have a crank sensor learn "test" on it?
Gotcha. You got a vacuum leak on bank 2. Spray your carb cleaner around while watching that screen and look for your STFT on bank 2 to jump. When it does you are in the area of the leak.,. its most likely an intake gasket.
See if some more playing leads you to a misfire counter too. It would help to know which bank is misfiring.
Sounds good. I will be standing by.
Can you try swapping the number 7 coil with another cylinder and clear the code and see if the misfire follows the coil??
And now it looks like you have a BIG vacuum leak on bank 2. Can you spray some carb cleaner or something around the intake while monitoring the STFT on bank 2?
