Hello. I have a 2005 Cadillac Escalade. The check engine light has come on, and it flashes when I try to accelerate. It has no acceleration power, and the gas mileage has gotten terrible. It is giving a PO300 code. We have changed the spark plugs and wires, all 4 O2 sensors, the right side catalytic converter. What else can we do?

I'm sorry, I had to step away for work. I have a Craftsman OBD 2 & 1 scanner, model 20899. It had software to link to a PC, but I had to get a new computer, and the disk won't read to download onto my new computer. I can't find a software download for it. so, I guess...no.

And its not setting a code for an individual cylinder?

If you spray brake parts cleaner or carb cleaner or something around the intake does it smooth out for a second?>

39;Ok. That didn't do any good. The car idles good when you start it, but as soon as you give it gas, it chugs, loses power, and tries to die.

Then, it won't idle good again until you shut it down and let it sit for a while.

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Sounds like a bad fuel pump.

No we haven't. Hubby will find his fuel pressure gauge and check that.

Fuel pump seems to be holding at 50 PSI. It's been on there for about 5 minutes.

Hubby wants to know if possibly cam sensor or crank sensor. Or some module or relay on fuel system?

No. Have him leave the fuel gauge on and run it until its acting up and monitor the fuel pressure then. Let me know what the fuel pressure is reading while its missing.

I apologize, it was holding at 60, not 50. It's still at 60 when it's acting up. It's not going down at all.

Gotcha. You got a vacuum leak on bank 2. Spray your carb cleaner around while watching that screen and look for your STFT on bank 2 to jump. When it does you are in the area of the leak.,. its most likely an intake gasket.

See if some more playing leads you to a misfire counter too. It would help to know which bank is misfiring.

Ok. The gasket had been changed, both knock sensors, CAM sensor. Now it's giving a P0107 code.

Can you try swapping the number 7 coil with another cylinder and clear the code and see if the misfire follows the coil??

Well, turns out the MAP sensor wasn't plugged in good. He did switch out the number 7 coil wroth a good one that he had here anyway. Now we're back to the generic P0300 code. Should I get the live data again?
