Customer Question

I have a P0302 CEL and it is idling rough. What might it be?

Hello, my name is***** two common things to cause a misfire are injector and coil. Considering you already moved coil around with no change next step would be to replace injector. If injector doesn't help then you will want to do a compression test and cylinder leakdown test to check for any engine problems such as valve but that is pretty unlikely. Give me your vin and I'll upload replacement instructions for injector. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks!

Do you have a diagram showing proper cylinder numbering? Also, its says on dash to service stabilitrac. Is that normal with misfire? Vin is 3GYFNDEY1BS642802

The stabilitrac light usually means you have a failing wheel bearing, you will need to have codes checked with scantool capable of checking abs codes which can often be done at parts stores for free. Here is a cylinder order diagram and replacement instructions for injector. Let me know if you have more questions, thanks.-https://www.dropbox.com/s/ojv3slzkijdsj6n/c2.pdf?dl=0-https://www.dropbox.com/s/zoc1ihkogapgcji/c3.pdf?dl=0-https://www.dropbox.com/s/9m8kh9ybzejvbwc/c4.pdf?dl=0-https://www.dropbox.com/s/hmruy4wb0voxcaa/c1.png?dl=0

OK THANKS. The stabilitrac light comes on only when it reads a misfire. I have a code reader and have reset light 3 times. The stabilitrac is showing only when misfire detected. You think they are unrelated?

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
If stabalitrac light is only coming on when it misfires then it should go away when misfire issue is taken care of. Let me know how it goes or if you run into more questions, thanks.

Follow up question from April 10th. Just getting to it. Is it a must to have these special tools? Will I be able to remove the fuel rail with out these removers??

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
you will, thanks!

I had to questions together and I don't know how to apply your answer. Yes I will need the tools or yes I will be able to get the rail off with out the remover?

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
you can remove fuel rail without special tool. Let me know if you have questions, thanks.

Dan thanks for all your help! I did change the injector with no results! Still getting misfire on #2. Also can feel the miss when idle in drive. So, I broke down and took to dealer and they said #2 intake valve has carbon build up on backside of valve. Said I needed to pull head and have valves cleaned. Mech suggested I run injector cleaner in fuel and eventually may clean off deposits. Question is there a way to ingest seafoam or similar cleaner into air intake to wash backside of valve? Being direct injection no fuel hits the stem.

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.
You can suck seafoam into engine using vacuum line which will get back side of valve, let it sit over night to soak, then in morning run in low gear at high rpm to burn out deposits, this will sometimes help.
