Customer Question

I have a 2009 Cadillac Escalade. Over the weekend, I took my car to the detail shop to have it cleaned. The cleaner stated that he must have left the door opened too long because the battery died. After the battery was re-charged, I took it to Auto Zone for them to check the battery and it checked out ok. Since the battery was re-charged, the audio system or back up camera do not work. Please help.

Here is your owners manual, the fuse start on page 6-106, check them.

The radio fuse is the rdo fuse #42 in the underhood fuse block at the left side of engine compartment.

Are the Audio System Fuse And Back Up Camera Fuse the same?

According to Chilton, " The body control module (BCM) supplies B+ to the rearview camera when the transmission is placed into reverse"

I see one simple test for that backup camera:

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the rearview camera.
  2. Ignition ON, park brake applied, transmission in REVERSE, test for B+ between the B+ circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If less than the specified value, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  3. If all circuits test normal, replace the BCM.
