2006 Cadillac Escalade: the accelerator..throttle..transmission fluid…

Customer Question
I have 2006 Cadillac Escalade...
I have 2006 Cadillac Escalade when I am going down the road and I let off the accelerator I get a howl. The howl is not constant from 65-30 but from 30-0 it is constant if I barely touch the throttle at any speed it makes the howl constant on deceleration When I put it in nuteral or under power the howl goes away. I pulled the fill plug and got about a gallon of transmission fluid.

This problem is typically due to failing bearings in the front differential. The front differential will need to be overhauled with new bearings.

why is the tranfercase overfilling with fluid

Cadillac Mechanic: Dave Nova, Cadillac Technician replied 8 years ago

The only way this could happen is if the seal on the front of the transfer case is bad and allowing transmission fluid to enter the transfer case. You should also see a corresponding loss of transmission fluid from the transmission.
