I wanted to add that housing in Nevada is way cheaper than California.
The median home value in Nevada is $197,500. Nevada home values have gone up 8.8% over the past year
The median home value in California is $440,700. California home values have gone up 5.3% over the past year.
So a house here in Nevada about half what one in California is.That may be a real consideration for you.
Nevada also has some pretty good tax exemptions for vets, seniors.
