Looking to implement a policy that will disallow my employees

Customer Question

Looking to implement a policy that will disallow my employees from giving their personal numbers to customers and potential customers. Employees breaking this policy will be subject to termination. I just wanted to clarify that this will not leave us vulnerable to wrongful termination suits.

Thank you for your question. So long as you are applying the policy equally, and not terminating employees on the basis of their race, religion disability or national origin, you are okay. The policy has to be clearly stated that it is grounds for termination, but it isn't wrongful to terminate them for a violation of such policy.
