Resolved Question:

I worked for Sutter Memorial Hospital and accrued PTO (paid time off) at a rate of $60.77. I recently transferred to a different corporation Sutter Medical Foundation. My PTO transferred but I am making less money $54.61. When I use my PTO I will be reimbursed at a lower rate of pay. If I use all of my PTO I will loose $737. Is this legal?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation and hope I can help.

Unfortunately, since your wages have been reduced, it is legal for your employer to compensate you for your paid time off at your current rate of pay, even though you accrued the hours when you had a higher rate of pay.

I'm sorry that I can't give you better news, but I hope you appreciate a direct and honest answer to your question.
