I have a sole proprietorship business, so I'm self-employed,

Customer Question

Hello. I have a sole proprietorship business, so I'm self-employed, and I have a friend who I couldn't afford to hire so he is also self-employed and I give him work and he works full time. I want to write a contract. Should it be a subcontracting contract or maybe a franchise contract? Or should I say that I treat him like an employee? And make it like an employee contract? Thank you

1. What type of business is it?

2. Do you want to deal with payroll taxes or would you rather that you just issue a 1099 form and let him pay his own taxes?
