Customer Question

Hello I became a franchisee of a frozen yogurt establishment a couple of years back. My husband is a franchisee of a Dunkin Donuts. DD sent one of their loss prevention agents after I opened my store and pressured me to provide them with all confidential information relating to my franchise. The underlying threat being they were going to revoke my husband's franchise agreement otherwise. They evoked the non compete clause which they are holding me the spouse to. May I point out that I have never signed any such agreement have never been aware that such a clause existed in my husband's franchise agreement. Moreover, it is very debatable if the franchise I belong to is in any way a competition to DD. I feel my civil rights have been violated by their heavy handed and unethical way of getting confidential information from me. I've been victimized as a woman and a small business owner for independently starting and running my business. America is not running on Dunkin Donuts but rather is being run over by Dunkin Donuts. Please advise
