Customer Question

1. What is the best state to start an online business in? I am physically located in New York but I have customers/clients all over the US (and none based in NY). I would like to keep the setup fees as low as possible as well as yearly fees.
2. What is the best type of business structure to use if I would like to do the following:
- Easily transfer ownership with minimal fees and paperwork.
- Have only one employee (myself)
- No personal asset liability

NY attorney here. The best way is to set up an LLC in New York. If you want to discuss in detail, we can speak on the phone (there is an additional charge to speak on the phone). Otherwise, an LLC give the best flexibility and creating it in New York is good since you want to have any potential lawsuits be heard in NY.
