I split with my business partner, however he kept the books

Customer Question

i split with my business partner, however he kept the books and locked me out. It is a small business, but I've hired a lawyer try to encourage a reasonable split, but no reasonable counter to our $15K settlement request. I don't have much money, but need to get this settled and believe I'm due half the business value. How do you recommend I/we proceed without draining everything I have? Could I afford a bench trial?

Hello. I am here to help you with your question. First, I have a clarification question. Are both of your names on the incorporation documentation? When you say split did you actually dissolve the corporation? Or you sold your shares to the other partner?
