Can a non-physician (i.e., a physician's wife who is not an M.D.) be a 50% owner of a medical practice set up as an LLC in the State of Maryland?
Unfortunately, the doctor's wife who is not a physician or otherwise licensed to practice medicine could not own part of the LLC.

That is because it would be considered the practice of medicine to own the LLC, and you need to be licensed to practice medicine in Maryland in order to own the practice.

Here it the link to the applicable statute.
