I live in California. I got a judgement againest an ex-friend a couple of years ago. She will not pay me. Can I send it to the IRS to take any refund she gets, if she gets one?
Thanks
Diana
As a general rule, a private creditor may not directly garnish an IRS refund. Most commonly, government agencies can garnish IRS refunds. Child support enforcement, for example.
