can we change the shipper on a b/l or at least issue a letter

Resolved Question:

can we change the shipper on a b/l?? or at least issue a letter stating a change. We are in Mexico and arrange the load in netherlands via our related party (current shipper) to be discharged in Venezuela, but from now on the buyer want it to be its own related party.

That is fine, so long as the buyer also accepts risk of loss from the point where your shipper removes the items. That means that if any issues or poblems crop up with your shipping, once you hand off the goods to his shipper in the otehr country, the buyer accepts the goods and will not be able tolater accuse you of defects, loss of items, or any other issues that your personal carrier assumes where transporting his products.
