What is the statute of limitations on a civil action in Texas

This answer was rated:

What is the statute of limitations on a civil action in Texas against a business televising an event such as a boxxing match without proper authorization? I guess the term is "Theft of Services"? Probably similar to pirating downloaded music or movies.
It would be a copyright violation, since those events are copyrighted by those putting them on and there is a 3 year statute of limitations on copyright violations. If they televised something without authorization it would also come under a damage to personal property action which has a 2 year statute of limitations.

So after reading my follow up "already tried", your opinion is that this is passed the statute?
It also depends which cause of action they are suing you under. If it is for damage / loss they suffered to their property the statute is 2 years. If they are going to charge you violated their copyright rights, it is 3 years, if it is 3 years then you need to look at the date they filed the action, not the date you were served to see if they filed within the statute of limitations. Also, since you are a business, you will need to hire an attorney to represent you because you cannot represent your business it would be considered the unauthorized practice of law.
