Hello, usually the pumps and adapters aren't very problematic on these models. The relief valve in the adapter is fairly cheap and can be found HERE if you'd want to try replacing it. That's where i would start first.

Definitely worth a shot to start. I'm sure there's some bearing wear but if this was a sudden thing that happened it's either the valve or pump. Labor time on a pump and parts is still going to be lower than a used engine and labor time.
