2008 Buick Lucerne, My father lost the key and key fob. He had a key made at the dealership. I went over to reset the system for the new key, and now the alarm will not stop going off. I have not reset the system yet. He has no key fob, just a key.What Do I do Now? I have a OBD 2 scanner and fairly mechanically inclined.

Have you tried to lock and unlock the doors with the key or the interior lock and unlock buttons at all to see if it will turn off then at all?

I have not tried with the key, just manually and with the power lock button.

I am not with the car now, I am at my office. I could call from it later this week. I would like to try it this way if possible.

Try locking and unlocking with the key itself as this usually will turn off the alarm.Once this is done then you can perform the key learn procedure to learn in the key.I recommend getting another remote as well and having it programmed to make it easier in the future to lock and unlock the vehicle as well as to turn off the alarm.

If locking and unlocking it does not work to turn off the alarm let me know here.You can also request a call here when your ready if you want.
