Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
At 30 it goes to 8.4-7.7 fluctuation 86 is showing 12.4v
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

ok, then 30 is a problem it needs to be 12 volts. its a direct feed from ign2 fuse

Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

somethings wrong between 35 and the relay but give it a shot. also check 87 on the relay for voltage

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Nothing at 87 and 85
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

ok good. not supposed to be

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

pull 35 out and check for voltage on one side of it

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Left side is showing 12.4v other side nothing
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Left side meaning closest to windsheild
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

it shouldn't read anything on one side. so the problem is either the fuse or the wire between the fuse and slot 30 of the relay

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
do I take fuse box apart or run a wire from dead side of 35 fuse to 30 on relay
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

did you check the continuity of the fuse?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Everything is intact and good connection
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

but you are only getting 7-8 volts in slot 30 of the relay?

Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

i would definitely remove the fuse block and see if you can find the wiring issue because it definitely is a wiring issue

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Popped it open and all contacts and wires are there
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

and no corrosion and no breaks? pay attention to the wire going fuse fuse 35 to 86 of the relay

Customer reply replied 4 months ago
I did perfect condition and clean I'll send a pic her in a min
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

do a continuity test of that wire. also check it for high resistance

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

well, the 12 volts to 30 is directly from the ign2 fuse. the ign 2 fise is powered by a bus that controls a lot of other things

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

dont know what to tell you. except you need to do a continuity test of the wire from the slot in 86 to the ign 2 fuse plug it(inside the fuse block

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
Replaced fuse block under hood still won't start doing same thing under side of box is showing 12.4 v at connection points all connections good only thing I haven't replaced is the pcm.Everything else has been replaced
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

and only showing what at the relay?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
12.4v
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago

ok, so now we have the correct voltage at the relay slot 30 correct?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
still nothing only click same as before no start I've replaced everything I can think of can it be the pcm.All fuses and relays clicking and show power at 12.4 v
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 4 months ago
