Is there something else that would have made it not want to crank up after a collision there is no damage to the car. Just scuff marks
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

what'd ya find?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
I believe the wreck knocked loose the negative cable on the starter I just replaced. And that is what is stopping it from cranking up
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

ok, did you tighten it?

hows it going?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
My car is over heating now. I took tje thermostat out. Its still over heating. Added water and antifreeze. Could it be the heater core
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

since you rear ended someone it is probably the radiator. are you noticing any leaks? if not then the collision may have damaged the cooling fans

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
No leaks fans run. Im going with water pump
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

not so fast, with the engine warmed up to operating temp, are the upper and lower radiator hoses equally hot?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
Cant check that at the present moment. If not what does it indicate
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

if the upper hose doesnt get hot then the thermostat but we know thats not it. iff the lower hose doesnt get hot or it only gets warm, the radiator could be clogged or like you are thinking, the water pump is bad. but, before you check these things, make sure the system is full, you have bled all of the air out and the heat is turned on full blast

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
The heater doesnt work
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
I put water in it already when it first started to get hot
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

is the system staying full?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

did you bleed the air out of the system?

Ask Your Own Buick Question
Customer reply replied 9 months ago
No leaks. And I check the oil and my tail pipes to make sure I havent blown my head gasket.
Buick Mechanic: david craig, ASE Certified Technician replied 9 months ago

ok well if you got all the air out and the system is staying full and the cooling fans are coming on at the correct temperatures, then check the radiator hoses and the heater hoses going into the firewall. if all of those hoses are hot. let me know.
