With the car turned off and you open the rear hatch the

Customer Question

with the car turned off and you open the rear hatch the locking solenoid starts acting like some one is hitting the lock button. The license plate lights start flickering. When you close the hatch all this stops, but license plate will not work
JA: Just to clarify, what are the exact lights you're talking about?
Customer: the two small lights above the license plate
JA: What is the model/year of your Buick?
Customer: sorry, 2004 rainier
JA: Are you fixing your Rainier yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: myself, tried a new BCM but no luck. If you pull the two bulbs above the license plate the solenoid stops.If you start the car it stops or if you turn on the lights it stops. but the license plate light never come on
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Everything else works just fine
