2001 lesabre "stutters" when cruise control on and under

Customer Question

2001 lesabre "stutters" when cruise control on and under uphill load from about 45 to 60 mph. When I did notice, rpms were about 2000
JA: Have you checked the fuse? What size is your engine?
Customer: 3800 engine. which fuse?
JA: Are you fixing your LeSabre yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just starting myself. Just purchased. Used 192,000 miles. Seemed promising with TLC. Had plugs, plug wires replaced (New coils had already been installed) Had new tires installed, balanced and alignment performed.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Always a slight 'shimmy" when gradually accelerating through 45 to 55 mph. No shimmy if accelerator is not depressed.
