I just sent my issue with a 2002 rendezvous but hit a button

Customer Question

I just sent my issue with a 2002 rendezvous but hit a button and it closed out .
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have been trying. I replaced battery and starter this morning.
JA: When you turn the key, do you get a single loud click, or a series of rapid ones?
Customer: One single loud click and if I leave the key turned to start it it will click again about 3 to 5 seconds later
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Just it has a new battery and anot A rated used starter with one year warranty. I can't think of anything else.

When I try to start it it drains the battery quickly. I have a charger on it now.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

If the starter was used then it could definitely still be the problem but if the symptoms are exactly the same then there may definitely be another issue. You could have a poor engine ground, poor positive feed to the starter, or there could be a mechanical engine issue preventing it from turning.

Can you turn the engine using a socket on the crank damper bolt?

Thanks fixed already.
