Put new master cylinder and new brake lines. Bled the brakes

Customer Question

Put new master cylinder and new brake lines. Bled the brakes but cannot get a firm pedal, very spongy.
JA: Have you tried "bleeding the brakes" to get any air out of the line?
Customer: Yes,vacuum bled the system, even tried manual bleeding, soft pedal.
JA: What is the model/year of your Buick?
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have tried everything. Could it be the abs block.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Just replaced the master cylinder and the brake lines.

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here. One very common cause for the type of problem you are having with your breaks can be caused a failing Brake Pressure Modulator Valve and in order to determine if in fact that is the case then you are going to need to test it. See the steps to do this in the link below.

See the Modulator valve location in this link.
