Hello, my name is Bobby. Thank yo for the question. The way you tested it works just fine. Most of the time this is due to a bad ignition control module. This is a common failure on this car. It is located under the ignition coil pack. You can remove the coil pack and the module. Take the module to most any parts store and they can test it to verify if it has failed. It is more than likely the issue. If it is not bad then it may be another sensor failure or a circuit problem. Please let me know if you need more help.
