The facility tried two different recognition sequences to turn off the theft deterrent, they say that didn't work either. When I tried it at home when I first replaced the PCM in September it worked for me. I don't understand why they can't get it to start after replacing the head gasket!

If they are performing the correct process then it should register fine. Do you know what they are trying? Also, if this is a shop they should have a scan tool that can put the vehicle into relearn mode.
