greetings,

did you check the crank sensor? did you check for codes? has the upper intake been replaced with the updated design?

Hello Ironmike! This is an intermittent problem, no pattern to it, from curb idle to highway speed. When it runs decently, it drives like a dream. The alternator is barely putting out and it will be changed tomorrow A.M. The local Buick dealership tells me that without a displayed MIL lamp there are no codes to read. Their suggestion is to drive the car until it completely fails, then tow it in for repairs. The plenum has been replaced with the updated design and new gasket. I'm not sure how to check crank sensor for (heat) related failures. Thank you!

I have seen the crank sensor give stall and running issues like you have. The alternator not charging can affect the running so it is best you repair that first. If I had high mileage and still had the original one I would replace the crank sensor next.

good luck
