Will the trunk open from the push button in the glove box?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

No, trunk won't open from the push button in glove box.

I can hear a clicking sound in the glove box area when I use the remote, but neither opens the trunk.

Open trunk with the key and check for power at the wiring going to trunk latch while pressing the button on the remote. Let me know what you find.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.

We found three electrical connections - only one (orange & black wires ) have power,

even without pressing the remote.

Expert:  Dave Nova replied 7 years ago.

The black/white wire is the one that should power up. I know you said the door locks work. The trunk release operates off the DR/LCK fuse in the dash fuse panel so the fuse should be good. This leaves the possibility being a bad BCM or trunk release relay.

You should be able to access the trunk relay (12) by removing the glove box and under dash panel. This relay should click when pressing the trunk release button in the glovebox or the remote. If the relay will not click, test for power on the orange wire at the relay. Then ground the brown wire at the relay, this should energize the relay and open the trunk. Let me know what you find.
