2000 buick lesabre
Expert:  FIXITMAN replied 8 years ago.
Okay, and what happens when you attempt to start the vehicle?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
all the lights in the dash and headlights flicker and eventually die
Expert:  FIXITMAN replied 8 years ago.
Okay. If the battery is fine in the vehicle then chances are that the problem is with the ignition switch. If the switch is failing internally this will happen. This can also be caused by damage to the wiring in the fuse box under the hood. If you are in an area that has rodents they can damage these wires.

i think it might be the security system, the car started fine i changed the bulbs hi beams and lows then the car wouldnt start back up,is there anyway to reset the security system the fuse box keeps clicking also.
Expert:  FIXITMAN replied 8 years ago.
The security system would not do this. If this was acting up then the vehicle would crank and not start. Did you try jump starting the vehicle?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
yes,i tried jumping it that didnt work
Expert:  FIXITMAN replied 8 years ago.
Okay, then there must be a short someplace. If this happened right after the bulbs were changed then check the wiring around where you worked. If it is fine then check the fuses in the fuse box. Otherwise it sounds like an ignition switch issue.

its definatly something electrical there is no power getting to the car
Expert:  FIXITMAN replied 8 years ago.
Okay. I would inspect the wiring under the fuse box under the hood. If it is fine then you should look into the switch.

do you think that somehow it could be the car alarm malfunctioning because when the lights and fuse box flickers, its in the pattern of when the alarm goes off...
