Had a new transducer fitted by Sea Doo, but when they were doing it, they broke the bait tank pump. They replaced it at their cost BUT the next time I took the ski out it sank after I tied it to a dock. I had launched it from the ramp and the dock was in a protected little inlet - no waves, no risk of collision or swamping. I got to the ski before it went completely under and was able to get it back on the trailer and drained. I have TWO witnesses that will testify the bungs were in correctly (they helped me get the ski back on the trailer as it was so heavy and unwieldy). I drained all the water and washed it with a salt removal detergent but the electrical system seems to be fried. There is no response from any gauges. The battery took a charge OK but still no response.

Customer: I have NOT stated the motor after it (almost) sank so I am unsure if water would have gotten inside the engine. I am also concerned that a serious leak could have developed from an incorrectly installed new bait tank pump. Is this a common problem? I am getting advice that the Sea Doo should never be moored.

Customer: my engine is brand new, I don't even have it yet. It will power my likewise brand new 10.8 ft inflatable. Probably end up with a fish finder.

This is electrical. Put all new instruments in. 1987 Sylvan Offshore with 3.0L Mercruiser. No issues for 2 months. Then gas gauge failed. Dual tank with on-off-on switch to alternate tanks with single gauge. Changed out switch. Didn't work but then it did. But only when I sit on drivers seat. I get up and move away, it drops to zero, not empty. Sit back down, it works. Sometimes can slowly get up and move away and it fluctuates before it slowly drops to zero again. Same with both tanks so do not suspect sending units.
