I have a 19...

I have a 19 foot welcraft boat with Evinrude 112hp, V4 Special 2 Stroke engine on it. The boat does not jump up on plane. In fact even when I’m by myself I have to move forward to get more weight up front. I just replaced the Rectifier and now the rpms are working. I did not have a chance to run it WOT to determine the max rpm’s. What is the correct prop size and pitch. And let’s say the rom are low( which I’m praying for) what lower pitch size do I go to. It’s not that there are any local prop shops left down the jersey shore where I can borrow a test prop.

All good questions and I knew you were going to ask. I won’t be able to get you the full model number or prop pitch until I head down the shore this weekend. The compression testing was done last year when I had to have the exhaust port gasket replaced. All was good. How do I resume our conversation as I get more information?

I plan on doing that since I just replaced a bad rectifier late yesterday and had no time to perform a test run. Text you soon.

Hi Charles. I’m on boat now. Serial number of my 112 evenrude pal is G4028059. WOT RPM without trim is 4600. With trim is 4900.

Welcraft Center console walk around with bull nose. The 112 spl’s Seem standard on those50 to 55 gallons of fuel in rear. Plus gear and cooler. Always have to walk up front to get it to plane.That’s SPL not Pal... spellcheck

From what I am getting, you should be using a 13.5x15P prop. This will gain you 200 more RPM on the top end and a better hole shot.
