55357; I get that! No problem - this while ignition thang is a pain. Heck - get me a pull string and let’s go manual! Lol!!

You wouldn't want to be doing that on a hot summer day. The whirring is low voltage to the starter, or a bad starter. We just have to do some voltage checks to see what it is. It's still possible that the battery itself is weak/bad.

Agree! I did the test where you turn the key to start & hold volt meter on battery terminals. I got a reading of 8.25 so that’s a normal drop in voltage - right?

Oh no, that's a bad or weak battery. A fully charged battery will ready roughly 12.7V when fully charged. When the battery is loaded (With a battery load testing tool, or simply loaded with a starter motor) that battery must maintain 10.5V or better. (A perfect battery will drop from roughly 12.7 to 11.5). But it must maintain that 10.5V or better. If you are only getting 8.25 then that's to little voltage (The starter itself requires 9.5V or better). You want to try charging your battery up and see what happens. If it still drops to 8.25 even after charged, then you simply have a bad battery.
