Great, Has the engine been sitting for some time unused?

Have you already done a compression test?

Ask Your Own Boat Question
Customer reply replied 7 months ago
compression is excellent and I have run the ob motor for about half hour 14 or 15 times over the last few months.
Marine Mechanic: Charles, Marine Mechanic replied 7 months ago

do you have a mulltimeter to do some tests?

Marine Mechanic: Charles, Marine Mechanic replied 7 months ago

Ok, with the motor it idle, test the voltage that is going to the red, and the red/white wires to the switchboxes. You will need to unmount the boxes and leave all wires connected to them. You should see around 25V AC or DC if you have a DVA attachment.

I will do that, however is there an adjustment on the trigger arm?
Marine Mechanic: Charles, Marine Mechanic replied 7 months ago

At the top of the trigger arm is 1 adjustment. The gap on it should be 7/16". The idle speed adjustment is on the center of the throttle arm. The small bolt there will adjust the idle timing. The 3rd adjustment is at the top of the throttle arm. There is a stop where the timing arm hits at WOT.

What are the compression numbers that you have on it?

132 to 135

Ok, great. Can you do the voltage test?
