4.3l mercruiser tks 2004 alarm problem

Mechanic's Assistant: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix. The Marine Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so the Marine Mechanic can help you best.

Eng starts fine. Once reaching operating temp alarm sounds. SOmetimes it stops as revs are increased above 2000rpm, sometimes it stays on regardless of rpm. Have isolated each sensor (temp, oil px, drive oil) sequentially and then all at once. Alarm remains on regardless. Oil px good, drive oil at the right level, temp at 175, risers cool, good water flow. Boat was serviced 5 days ago and the problem started on the first start post service.

Hello my name is ***** ***** am I speaking with? I read what you wrote. The engine has both senders and switches. When you disconnected the temp and oil, what were the actual colors of the wires you disconnected?

Hi Jason,My name is***** disconnected both sender and sensors sequentially. Temp sensor wire, there were 2 black/yellow in a clip on junction box. Temp sender wire-brown. When I removed temp sender wire, guage went to zero as its supposed to. Oil px switch-removed two wire junction box from sensor next to oil filter. Cant remember what colour. Also removed oil px sender wire and oil guage went to zero as it should. Also removed the two wires from drive oil sensor, one black - one tan/blue.

Also, as an aside, what is the normal response time between messages. I thought this was a chat line?
