How much does it cost to ask a question and get an answer?

Customer Question

how much does it cost to ask a question and get an answer?
JA: It can cost anywhere from $10 to $100, depending on the type of issue and how much of the Expert's time your question is expected to take (how complex and lengthy an answer you require).
Customer: Is the cost disclosed before you commit
JA: The Expert will know what to do. Please tell me everything you can so the Expert can help you best.
Customer: Ok, I have a 1980's ? Mercury 7.5 hp manual start outboard engine. I replaced the water pump and am not having difficulty putting the lower unit back into the main unit. I have tried matching forward, reverse and neutral with the motor and lower unit, yet can not get it to go back together. There is nothing stuck that is the way and the water line is going into the tube.
JA: Is there anything else the Expert should be aware of?
Customer: Not that I am aware of

Have you turned the flywheel slightly to get to aligned?

If I am remembering this engine correct, there is a long guide tube at the top of the driveshaft housing. Use a good bright flashlight and see if it is there. It would look like you are actually missing it and this is why you are not getting the gear case all the way up.
